Informasjon fra I Love Kit:
In this war, with the emergence of medium PzKpfw IV tanks equipped with 75mm long guns and heavy PzKpfw V panther and PzKpfw VI Tiger tanks in German armored forces, the armor penetration capacity of 75mm m3 artillery of the United States was insufficient. In order to solve this problem, the installation of the test T23 tank turret with 76mm M1 long tube gun masked on M62 was carried out on M4. From January 1944 to April 1945, the mass production of M4 tanks with T23 turret continued until April 1945. All Sherman tanks equipped with 76mm artillery are named "(76)". M4A3E8 is the last type of Sherman, which can be said to be an outstanding work at that time. The balance of various abilities is very good. Its balance in firepower, armor and mobility can be compared with T-34 / 85 of Russia and Panther of Germany.
