Background information
The Spanish Galleone significantly shaped the golden age of seafaring in the 16th and 17th centuries. As a hybrid between the war and merchant ship, it revolutionized maritime trade and the nautical demonstration. These mighty ships not only transported valuable goods between the continents, but also formed the backbone of the Spanish armada. They made their robust construction and the ability to wear both freight and cannons the preferred ship of their time.
